Gift Guide for the Host and What to Wear to the Party

Tis the season! For everything. Holiday parties with colleagues, friends, neighbors, and family. Concerts and performances. Cookie exchanges. And each time you need an outfit and probably a gift for the host.

I’ve got you covered today! My advice is to mix and match items in your closet for these events. I’ve paired these red mules with jeans and with plaid pants. Add a colorful scrunchie to your wrist as a practical accessory for when the party gets warm. My favorite way to go from client closet clean out to elementary school concert is with a classic white tee and jeans under a statement trench and festive shoes.

Okay, you’re dressed in a variation of the outfit you wore last week to that parents happy hour. Now, what to bring for the host? I’ve put together a collection of my favorite items from both national retailers and local boutiques (who will ship to you if you’re not in Chicago).

These shops are woman owned and I advocate for shopping local whenever possible. Studies have shown that almost 50% of every dollar spent at a local establishment is recirculated into the local economy. National and chain retailers the average is 14%. Shopping local is such an easy way to bolster your community so stop in and see what those shops have to offer this season!
